 Youth Public Safety Academy

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a Youth Academy, June 9th – June 14th, 2008 at our Training Facility located at 13101 E. Broncos Parkway, in Centennial, Colorado.

This is your opportunity to receive a behind the scenes look at the Sheriff’s Office. Our objective is to educate our young citizens about the Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement in general, and to build relationships based upon trust, understanding and mutual support.

This six day mini-academy will include topics such as: Patrol Procedures; Gangs; Law Enforcement Driving; Arrest Control Techniques; Firearms Safety (including Shoot-House scenarios with Simunitions); County Jail Tour; SWAT Team, Bomb Squad and K-9 Demonstrations; plus much more.

To be eligible to attend you must meet the following criteria:

• Be between the ages of 14 and 18
• No serious criminal background
• Commitment to the course
• Availability of transportation to and from the Training Facility

Complete the attached forms (Application Form, Class Permission Form - including the required signatures), and return to your Sheriff’s Office.

 Graduation

The Arapahoe High School Class of 2008 Graduation ceremony will be held Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Littleton Public Schools Stadium.

IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER OR RAIN the ceremony will be held in the Arapahoe High School Main Gymnasium at 11:00 a.m.

Read the letter sent home  on April 1st.
